Yes it is. Not not. There can be little doubt about that. Our organisation has done more than most to promote the indigenous culture of the Ruhr District, and that long before every Tom, Dick and Fritz started jumping on the Culture Capital bandwaggon. But even now, in the thick of all the Ruhr2010 hype, we are plowing our lonely furrow. More steadily and dependably than most. We were in Duisburg to listen to the sage’s wisdom (from beyond the grave). We were in Oberhausen to look at Duisburg. We were in Mülheim because we went astray. We went to Essen to sample the food. No, we really went to Essen to find an Unperfekthaus, but found all the houses were imperfect. We went to Bochum to experience the local tradition, only to find it had been re-scheduled. We went to Herne to investigate the wildlife. We went to Kamen to investigate the wild life. We refused to go to Bottrop, but we did go to Gelsenkirchen for our sins. We went the way of all flesh. We went were no man in his right mind went before. We even almost went to Recklinghausen! But what’s the use? What shall that? Such a Kwuch!
